Anuj Khanna Sohum is the Founder, Chairman & CEO of Affle. A serial entrepreneur & innovator, Anuj started as an entrepreneur at the age of 19 and has built 3 innovative tech companies.
Anuj's entrepreneurial and strategic leadership has set Affle on the growth path to become a global platform for audience and data centric mobile apps & ads as a service (MAAS) platform - keeping its international strategic investors like D2C Inc (Docomo subsidiary), Itochu Corporation, Microsoft, BCCL - Times of India committed to Affle.
Anuj has a keen interest in supporting social causes. He takes active interest and invests in academic and commercial initiatives that enable rural entrepreneurship development. He regularly shares his entrepreneurial experience with engineering and business faculties of leading universities.
Anuj is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business and NUS - Electrical & Computer Engineering. He lives in Singapore with his wife, a clinical psychologist and his two kids.
Anuj Kumar was among the first to join the Affle founding team beginning 2006, while the company was in early stages of inception. Having worked with large companies in the areas of marketing, advertising and technology prior, he took the plunge to become a co-founder at Affle as he was supremely excited by the business model & significant untapped opportunities in the digital ad platforms business.
Anuj has played a pivotal role in building & growing Affle. He forged important partnerships, integral to Affle’s business, thus helping to make Affle a leading Mobile Apps and Ads as a service (MAAS) company. Over the last eight years under his leadership, his team has worked with several top marketers in Asia to help deliver end-to-end mobile advertising solutions through Affle’s products and platforms.
At an industry level, Anuj has played a key role in growing the mobile advertising industry by actively training, coaching and evangelizing the medium and adoption of latest ad technologies. He has been an active proponent of the blended 'Science' & 'Art' approach to make digital advertising more engaging, impactful and ROI driven. Anuj has been a regular speaker at leading industry events across Asia.
Prior to co-founding Affle, Anuj worked with large global media companies like ESPN STAR Sports, GroupM Mindshare and JWT. Anuj holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from India's top ranked institute, St. Stephen's College and a Masters in Advertising & Communication from Asia’s premier communication school, MICA.
Lay See Tan has over eighteen years of working experience in Malaysia and Singapore. Her last held position was Director, APAC Finance and Business Operations of a US MNC, which listed on the Nasdaq with operations in North America, Asia and Europe. Lay See was responsible to manage the finance team across Asia Pacific region to support the business operation located in Singapore, Hong Kong,Taiwan, Korea, India, China and Japan.
Prior to joining the above mentioned US MNC, she was a Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") in adiversified group listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange ("SGX-ST") where she played an active role in the preparation of the Company’s IPO and the subsequent secondary private placement. Her responsibilities included finance, accounting, tax, corporate finance, and investor relations functions.
She also has four years audit experience with Big 4 accounting firm in Malaysia and Singapore, which covered multinational and local enterprises.
Ms. Tan is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (“ACCA and Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountant ("ISCA); Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants ("MIA"); Member of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation ("MIT"). Ms. Tan graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy from the University of Glasgow, UK and also has a MBA from the University of South Australia.
Madan, or Maddy as he is known to friends & colleagues, has over 16 years of experience in the Media Industry. Since 2000, he has dedicated himself to the digital media business and took his early lessons from the start up teams of Mediaturf & Starcom. In 2002, he joined GroupM and later grew up the ranks to lead the Digital culture for Mindshare India in 2007. Since then till the end of 2011, the Mindshare digital team has dominated digital award categories at the Goafest Abbys, EMVIES, Campaign DMA including the Campaign Digital Agency of the Year.
He is an avid speaker, trainer, anchor, panelist & jury at various industry bodies & award shows. He has been a member of IAMAI and on the advisory board of AdTech New Delhi & ViziSense, faculty at Afaqs Campus & an advisor to tech-media start-ups.
An Engineer with a Masters in Marketing, he is interested in learning the interplay between media & emerging technologies in building brands & driving business levers in the Paid, Owned & Earned ecosystem.
Charles Yong joined Affle as an advisor in 2006.. He is a telecom industry veteran and an experienced technologist with over 20 years of consulting and programming design experience.
At Affle, Charles leads a multi-country team of engineers responsible for researching and developing digital media products covering a range of devices from PCs to smart phones to java based handsets. Charles also manages Affle's existing product portfolios, while ensuring their smooth technical functioning and the innovation development lifecycle processes.
Prior to joining Affle, Charles was the founder and CTO of Okilabs. A company he continues to run and provide technical direction to. Charles has also consulted with Accenture and Sun Microsystems in helping architect and managing their multi-discipline teams, liaising with multiple divisions within client's organisations like SIA and DHL.
Prior to founding Okilabs, Charles was the Director of Solution Consulting at Edgematrix, where he led the professional services business unit in nine countries across Asia Pacific. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Electrical Engineering from Monash University.
Vipul Kedia was one of the earliest to join Affle’s India office in 2006. As the leader of the Partnerships team, Vipul is responsible for forging & managing important strategic partnerships with publishers, carriers and other key partners.
At Affle, he has played a key role in launching products and building solid business partnerships with some of the largest organisations in the digital media and telecoms domain.
Prior to joining Affle, Vipul worked with IBM business consulting specializing in the Telecom Practice. He worked on projects dealing with diverse aspects of both business and technology including Service Delivery Platforms, Content Portals and Mobile Number Portability for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).
Vipul holds a Bachelor of Technology (Honors) in Computer Science Engineering from IIIT Hyderabad and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad.
An MBA from Asian Institute of Management-Manila, Viraj has developed expertise in the account management field with a special focus in the South Asia and South East Asia markets. Viraj leads account management at ad2campaign and brings with him over 7 years of experience in sales & marketing.
He started his career with Reliance Web-World and moved to Buongiorno, post his MBA, to handle the Philippines market, with responsibilities including managing operator relationships, media accounts, mobile marketing campaigns and launching various B2C initiatives.
He co-founded Mobimasta, putting to use all the lessons learnt on entrepreneurship at AIM. In two years, Mobimasta went on to become one of the leading mobile marketing agencies in the country by providing cutting edge solutions to top brands.
A sports fanatic, he enjoys playing soccer and squash on the weekends and is a passionate fan of Manchester United. An adventure sports junkie (until he got married), licensed scuba diver, trekker, skier and sky diver, he loves the outdoors.
With a glorious career spanning over 18 years, Kapil has formerly served as partner at S. Mohan & Co, a highly respected Chartered Accountancy firm India. He subsequently, was the Vice President, Finance at KMG Infotech, a New York based software development company providing IT solutions to top customers globally. Kapil brings in a wealth of Finance, Operations & Legal expertise to Affle's growing global business. At Affle he is spearheading Finance & Operations for all it's India businesses.
A product of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India & the Delhi University, Kapil has both feet planted firmly in Financial Operations and plays a key role in driving the Financial decisions for the organization.
