Singapore – Singapore-based mobile media company Affle and Japanese advertising company D2 Communications Inc have inked a strategic agreement to provide mobile advertising solutions to companies across Asia.

As part of the deal, Affle and D2 Communications, a subsidiary of NTT DOCOMO, will develop marketing solutions for brand owners, introduce innovations and share best practices.

They will also explore future partnership opportunities where Affle could launch its products in Japan, or replicate D2 Communication’s mobile advertising model to other Asian markets like India, Indonesia, and China.

“This tie-up is a validation of what we started in the mobile media space in Asia outside of Japan. We are confident that through this partnership we would be able to provide a lot more value to our users and partner telecom parries, publishers and marketers, and create much faster inroads into Japan, which is the largest mobile advertising market in Asia,” Anuj Khanna Sohum, CEO of Affle Group of Companies said.

Affle is currently a dominant player in the mobile media and advertising space in Asian markets such as India, Indonesia and others while D2 Communications is the market leader in Japan.

Affle has been backed by Bennett Coleman Company Limited, Microsoft, among others.

Its flagship product is SMS2.0, an application that enhances messaging experience by offering colours, emoticons and promotions. It also launched SMSLive, the next version of SMS2.0 with social networking and search features.

Most recently, it launched Pinch Instant Messenger for smartphones and mobile coupon app Coufon.
